At 4Front, we believe teen leadership doesn’t end when a program ends.
It grows when teens are given new opportunities to put their experience, skills, and perspective into action. Our Peer Mentor and Junior Counselor roles were created as a next-level leadership pathway for some of our strongest teen leaders and alumni, giving them the opportunity to return to 4Front in a new capacity and lead alongside our professional staff. Over the past several years, we have continued to develop these roles as an intentional extension of our leadership model, providing additional training, support, and mentorship as these young leaders take on greater responsibility and help shape the experience for the next generation of 4Front teens.
4Front Peer Mentors and JCs serve as junior staff, supporting each cohort throughout the year. They facilitate group activities, help navigate cohort dynamics, and bring a valuable teenage perspective to the experience. Each is selected for their demonstrated leadership skills, passion for the program, and ability to engage and inspire those around them. Drawing on their own experiences as participants, they offer a unique understanding of the program and serve as an important bridge between teens and professional staff, making them a valuable part of the Coordinator’s team and the cohort experience.

Q: What inspired you to be a Junior Counselor?
A: I chose to be a Junior Counselor because I had such an amazing experience at Diller last year. I made so many great memories, met a ton of new people, and gained important leadership skills. I wanted to come back as a Junior Counselor so I could continue growing, use the skills I learned last year, and make new connections that will last a lifetime.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this year?
A: I’m most looking forward to meeting new people, making new memories, and getting to know the members of Diller better. I’m also excited to take on new responsibilities as a Junior Counselor and make this year just as memorable as last year.
Q: Outside of school and 4Front, what do you like to do for fun?
A: I like to play ice hockey, golf, and cook.

Q: What inspired you to be a Junior Counselor?
A: I want to become a mentor and friend to this year’s cohort. I was inspired by my own amazing JC’s to create a safe, fun, and trusting environment for these teens to develop their Jewish identity and leadership skills.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this year?
A: I am looking forward to coordinating with the Diller JC network and connecting with new people. I am also excited to be a part of this cohort’s Diller journey.
Q: Outside of school and 4Front, what do you like to do for fun?
A: I like to dance, read, go out with friends.

Q: What inspired you to be a Peer Mentor?
A: I’ve always enjoyed meeting people outside of my usual circles and finding ways to turn a first conversation into a real connection. I wanted to be a peer mentor because 4Front gives teens the skills to do that intentionally, from communicating confidently to building relationships and taking initiative in their communities.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this year?
A: Getting to know the new fellows.
Q: Outside of school and 4Front, what do you like to do for fun?
A: Soccer! I play for both my school and club teams, coach younger players, and referee youth games.

A: I enjoyed doing the program so much as a fellow that I was inspired to come back and help. I learned so many valuable skills and lessons that will stay with me throughout my journey.

Q: What inspired you to be a Peer Mentor?
A: I was entered into SIF by my parents against my will, but very quickly, I saw the impact that it could have on someone like me. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I learned so many skills and qualities that I still utilize in my daily life. I hope to be able to foster that same type of enthusiasm in those who take part in the program!
Q: What are you most looking forward to this year?
A: I look forward to seeing all the innovative ideas the fellows come up with to solve real world problems in our society!
Q: Outside of school and 4Front, what do you like to do for fun?
A: I will be throwing the shot put collegiately for Amherst College, and I love to fish in the summertime.

A: I chose a Jewish leadership position because I wanted to be more involved in my community and use my voice to make a positive impact. It gave me the opportunity to connect with my Jewish identity while helping create a welcoming and meaningful community for others.

A: I’m most looking forward to meeting new people, building stronger connections, and creating meaningful experiences together. I’m also excited to grow as a leader and make a positive impact on my Jewish community.

A: I loved working as a member of TSC, and I’m excited to be able to come back with a different perspective. I love service and I’m glad I’m getting to come back.

Q: What inspired you to be a Peer Mentor?
A: After being in teen service council and peer leadership fellows myself, I was very inspired to mentor more teens so they could have the same fun and educating experience as me. I hope to be able to bring people together with common goals as a peer mentor.

A: This year I’m most looking forward to working with my friends as peer mentors and helping teens experience TSC in the same interactive and interesting way I did.

Q: What inspired you to be a Peer Mentor?
A: I have always liked working with kids and I think it is important to teach them leadership skills so they can be better humans. I have a strong belief that every child should have someone to look up to, and it would be an honor to provide that for another teen.
