STAC: STUDENTS TAKING ACTION FOR CHANGE

Flex your leadership muscles and get political! 4Front’s STAC programs teaches teens how to advocate for the causes they care about and raise their voices to make a difference. STAC offers multi-week sessions on relevant topics related to advocacy, social justice, government, and politics. In these series, teens get to learn about important causes and develop real-world skills in communication, public speaking, civil discourse, leadership, and more, all while getting to know other local, Jewish teens. Teens will also explore how these topics are connected to our Jewish values and wisdom. You don’t have to be able to vote to make a difference in our country, state, city, or community, and we’ll teach you how!

Past STAC Series topics include: Lobbying 101, Advocacy in the Digital Age, and Election 2020.

  • Make real change in our community by lobbying for or against a current bill related to an issue YOU are passionate about
  • Gain real-life, resume building public speaking skills
  • Learn how advocacy is an expression of your Jewish values

In addition, STAC provides teens with a forum to have constructive, political discourse about current events happening in the world around us. Whether you’re already politically involved or want to learn more about what’s going on, STAC is the program for you!

In partnership with the Baltimore Jewish Council, STAC’s winter series will give you the opportunity to make REAL change as you learn about and get involved in Maryland’s legislation process. During this 5-week series, teens will have the opportunity to better understand the political process, gain real-life experience with lobbying and public speaking, and advocate for a change at the state level of government! STAC will expose you to the systems of government at the Federal and State levels, a variety of public policy and social justice issues, and the Jewish values that inform our community’s advocacy around these issues. Teens will select a bill to lobby for or against in the State House and we’ll give you the tools to write effective, persuasive, and passionate testimony to share with state decision-makers.
