Beyond the Page: Teens Using Creative Expression to Explore Family, Disability, and Life’s Big Experiences
Join us for an evening of conversation, reflection and creativity as two local teen writers explore how storytelling can shed light on disability and family experiences.
Ava K. Perlin, a high school senior and author of One in a Millieon, will be in dialogue with fellow high school senior Ava Blockston. Both have siblings who have disabilities and have used writing as a tool to navigate the complex emotions that can come with this experience.
Together, they will discuss how creative expression can help teens process emotions. Their insights will resonate with teens who share similar family dynamics as well as anyone interested in using writing as a meaningful outlet.
Candy salad will be served.
Free and open to the community. Registration required.
This event is proudly in partnership with 4Front and The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore in honor of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance and Inclusion Month (JDAIM).
