Middle School Volunteen for a Day
Event DetailsMiddle School Volunteen for a Day
Taste of Volunteen on Monday and Tuesday, April 6 and 7. This is a great opportunity for new TNTs to get a preview of what the summer will be like, for returning or graduating TNTs to reconnect with their campers, and for friends who may not have signed up for a summer program to come experience TNT firsthand.
The day is structured very similarly to a typical summer day. We’ll meet at 9:00 am in the Teen Commons, then head down to the ELC for the morning. In the afternoon, we’ll come back together for lunch, games, sports, and camp-style activities, before wrapping up at 4:00 pm.
The cost is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Teens can attend one day or both, whatever works best for your schedule.
Please feel free to invite friends! Participants do not need to have prior or future Volunteen experience to join us.

Middle School Community Field Day at Homewood Field
Event DetailsMiddle School Community Field Day at Homewood Field
The Johns Hopkins Jewish Student Athlete Association (JSAA) is excited to host a Community Field Day at Homewood Field on April 19 from 3:30–5:30 PM for middle school students ages 11–14. This event is designed to bring together athletics, community, and faith, creating a welcoming space where young athletes can connect through sports while also learning about the values of teamwork, leadership, and inclusion that are central to both athletics and Jewish tradition. While the event is organized by JSAA and highlights Jewish community values, it is open to students of all backgrounds and faiths who are interested in a fun afternoon of games, activities, and mentorship from Johns Hopkins student-athletes. Our goal is to help bridge the gap between athletics and faith, showing how sports can be a powerful way to build community, character, and connection.

What does it mean to refuse antizionist erasure — to remain Jewish, Zionist, visible, and
connected to our story — when the pressure to conform keeps rising?
Join us for an inspiring conversation about Jewish courage, defiance, and resilience. Author Izabella
Tabarovsky brings the insights of her acclaimed book Be a Refusenik to Baltimore. Drawing on
the moral clarity of the refusenik movement, the book offers a powerful, practical framework for
navigating today’s climate of anti-Jewish ideological coercion.
Joined by former refusenik Aleksander Smukler and one of this generation’s leading Jewish voices,
Eyal Yakoby the conversation explores what it takes to stand firm, refuse to bend under pressure,
and affirm the full spectrum of Jewish identity in our time.
And moderated by Rabbi (Rabbi Moshe) Schwartz who has served as head of school of Krieger
Schechter Day School since 2015.
