Update from the 4Front

Calendar January 12, 2022

Dear families, friends, and colleagues,

Happy New Year!

With 2022 upon us, 4Front is looking ahead to a year full of opportunities, transitions, and growth. As we begin this new year, we wanted to share a bittersweet update on some current staffing changes.

4Front’s Program Associate Eli Pollack has officially moved on to a new, full-time role with JCC Association, working with the JCC Maccabi Games. Eli hit the ground running with 4Front when he joined our team this past May, facilitating a fantastic CIT program for J Camps last summer and kicking off our Peer Leadership Fellows and Teen Service Council programs. With sincere dedication to the teens, Eli will be staying involved in a part-time capacity to finish out his work with the current PLF cohort. Eli is a passionate and enthusiastic professional and we are so glad he will continue to positively impact Jewish teens through his new role with the JCC Maccabi Games.

Additionally, 4Front’s Co-Managing Senior Director Sam Kahan Strakes will also be taking a step back and departing 4Front later this winter to focus on her family. Sam has spent the past 9 years dedicated to our community’s teens, beginning as Diller Coordinator at Jewish Volunteer Connection in 2014, then moving to 4Front where she fulfilled numerous roles over the past 5 years. Through Diller Teen Fellows, FUN(d), Teen Service Council, J Camps, and countless other programs, Sam has developed incredible relationships with so many teens, parents, colleagues, and partners who’ve all experienced first-hand her passion for her work and unmatched creativity. We look forward to celebrating Sam’s many years of dedication to youth engagement in Baltimore. She will be leaving her full-time role at the end of February, but will continue on in a part-time capacity through the Spring. Click here for a farewell message from Sam.

Sam and Eli will be greatly missed. We appreciate all they have done for 4Front and wish them the best in their new endeavors.

With these departures, we are excited for the new opportunity this presents us to grow our 4Front team. 4Front is seeking to hire two new positions-  4Front Assistant Director and Relational Engagement Associate. These new positions will help us to best achieve our mission of supporting and engaging Jewish teens and the adults who care about them in Baltimore. You can learn more about these openings at 4frontbaltimore.org/about/join-our-team/

At 4Front, we are more dedicated than ever to supporting our community’s teens and the adults who care about them. In times as challenging as today, we know how important it is to provide meaningful, positive experiences for teens and their families. As we have always done, 4Front will continue to pivot and adapt to our constantly changing world and ensure we’re meeting the needs of our community.

Wishing you a happy, healthy and safe start to the new year.
