Dear 4Front Teens, Parents, and Families,
I am writing you all with some bittersweet news. After almost 5 incredible years, August 8th will be my last day at the JCC and at 4Front.
Over a decade ago, as a teen, my life was changed during my experience participating in the Diller Teen Fellows program. The program not only gave me a safe space to grow as a leader within our community, but gave me a place where I, a young Jewish adult, could a explore my identity. My formative experience in the program left with me a desire to – as Helen Diller would say – “give back and make the world a better place.”
The JCC and 4Front have served as my second home over the last 4.5 years and provided me with the opportunity to make the world a better place – and has been nothing short of an unbelievable experience. I’ve had the privilege and pleasure to get to interact with hundreds of teenagers and parents during my time at the JCC and 4Front and each one of you has left an impact on me that words cannot describe. From hot, summer camp days to overnight retreats to service projects and to one memorable trip to Israel, I want to thank you for all the shared experiences we had together – and thank you ALL for your support. You are the reason I feel so fulfilled and why teenage-me would be proud!
I am so excited to see how all the teens I’ve interacted with and impacted will grow into young adults, that will undoubtedly change our world for the better. Although I am leaving the JCC and 4Front, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear from you all! My phone and email are always available to you to if you ever need to talk, need me to serve as a reference, write a letter of recommendation for a job, internship, or college, or whatever else you might need!
My personal email is [email protected] if anyone wants to reach me!
Sincerely,
Cody Gelvar
